October 1st 2006 - Joe & John On BBC 1's Question Of Sport

On Friday 22nd September, Joe and John appeared in front of millions on UK national television channel BBC 1. They appeared in popular sports entertainment quiz show 'A Question Of Sport'; a program that has been running for over 35 years, during which time many of the world's biggest sporting personalities have taken part. The format of the show involves two rival teams, each consisting of three sportspeople, competing via a series of interactive rounds and varying styles of questions.



One of the quiz's most-loved segments, entitled 'Mystery Guest',  has the teams trying to work out the identity of a top sporting star, who appears in a video clip, participating in an activity unrelated to their own sport. In Friday's episode, this segment involved cricketing legend Sir Viv Richards trying his hand at Freestyle Frisbee! The clip first featured John and Joe demonstrating a plethora of freestyle Co-Ops and moves. Then Sir Viv strolls into the clip, and, courtesy of Joe and John, is taught some of the basics of freestyle (with a spinjammer, mind)!

30th August 2006 - John & Joe Appear in Local Newspaper

Yesterday, John Coxhead & Joe McCrave (Team ukDiscstyle) had a feature article in their local county newspaper (the Lancashire Evening Post).


The article talked about the sport in general, John & Joe's achievements to date and their hopes for the future.

22 August 2006 - Amsterjam 2006 videos and photos online!

On the 24/25th June 2006, 24 competitors took part in Amsterjam, one of the year's major tournaments. We were there, competing and jamming, and had a fantastic weekend! We do, of course, have some great video footage and stills from the weekend, see below for links:

20th February 2006 - Panto AfterShow Party Demonstration Video

Johninho & Joe 'The Flow' recently performed a freestyle demonstration at the aftershow party of a local pantomime (traditional British comedic play). John had done the sound & lighting for this play while both he and Joe had family members staring in it. The Demo was performed at about midnight and was a done as a bit of a 'skit' on one of the dance routines from the play (this explains some rather strange antics at beginning of the demo).

8th January 2006 - Team ukDiscstyle Video 2005

We have now released the official 2005 team ukDiscstyle video. This video features some footage from the recent Revue demonstration, some from NASS 2005 and some footage we filmed especially for this video. 11th December 2005 - REVUE DEMO VIDEO!

    Earlier this month, Johninho and Joe 'The Flow' did a Frisbee Freestyle demonstration at a Talent Show at John's 6th Form College called the 'Revue'. This is a yearly concert put on by the 6th Form in order to raise money for charity and to entertain everyone who comes to watch. This years concert was described as "one of the best ever!" and a staggering £450 was raised for charity!! About 150 people attended and the Freestyle Demo was a big hit!

6th September 2005 - PRO DISC FREESTYLE WRISTBANDS! NOW AVAILABLE!

 

Fairly recently we have had some limited edition 'Pro Disc Freestyle' wristbands made! The bands are a combination of red, blue and white! They say 'Pro Disc Freestyle' on one side and 'Share The Spin' on the other (we apologise for the lack of clearness in the picture)!

The wirstbands are worn by many top freestylers around the globe including Tom Leitner, Dave Lewis and Arthur Coddington!!

Only 60 of these bands were ever made so stocks are very limited! We are now making them available for purchase online! In a few days you will find a link here to the online auction website, ebay! The bands will be sold here for a 'Buy It Now' price of £2.50 (about $4.60). Any bids lower than £2.50 will not be accepted so please do not bother! Shipping will cost £1 worldwide (about $1.84). We apologise about the price of the bands as they are fairly expensive. This is due to high production costs of over £2 for each band. The small profit made will go towards helping team ukDiscstyle to 'Share The Spin' in the UK. It will help us with the upkeep and maintenance of this site and will help when arranging demonstrations like the recent one we did at Walmer Bridge Fete (see below for video!).

2nd September 2005 - WALMER BRIDGE SUMMER FETE FREESTYLE DEMONSTRATION!

Team ukDiscstyle members, Johninho and Joe 'The Flow', did a freestyle demonstration at a local village fete earlier this week!! There was a fairly large crowd watching and everyone really enjoyed the demo!! We also had a small 'Target Frisbee' game in which people had to throw a disc into a small net! This was very popular and we were able to make £29.67, all of which was donated to Christian Aid !!! 18th AUGUST 2005 - NASS 2005 GALLERY!!!!

Hey Jammers!

Today is the big launch of ukdiscstyle.com!! Months of work has gone into the creation of this site and it is now finally finished! This website is great resource for Jammers and anyone remotely interested in the sport around the globe!
